Projects

Within the scope of sustainable development activities, TotalEnergies EP Italia initiates and supports educational and socio-economic development initiatives, co-financed by the partners of the Tempa Rossa joint venture - Mitsui E&P Italia B S.r.l. and Shell Italia E&P S.p.A.

Road Safety Culture

SDGS

As part of sustainable development activities and to contribute to the education of younger generations on road safety, the Tempa Rossa joint venture, in collaboration with the Potenza section of the National Police Association, launched the "Road Safety Culture" project. The initiative targeted schools in the Gorgoglione Concession area and involved 282 students. The students participated in theoretical lessons to acquire the fundamental principles of safe driving and road signs, as well as practical sessions to learn to drive safely using two simulators, one for cars and the other for motorcycles. The project, inspired by road safety, one of the four pillars of the TotalEnergies Foundation, aimed to strengthen the culture of safety among the new generations to make citizens increasingly aware of the risks arising from incorrect behavior on the road.

Bicycle Safety

SDGS

To promote among young people not only sports practice but also principles that must be considered essential today, such as light mobility and more sustainable lifestyles, the Tempa Rossa joint venture, in collaboration with Asd Motostaffette, launched the "Bicycle Safety" project. The initiative involved young students from the 13 municipalities of the Gorgoglione Concession in 3 hours of theoretical lessons and two hours of practical tests. The objectives that the Tempa Rossa joint venture aimed to achieve with the "Bicycle Safety" project were to promote light mobility and simultaneously encourage healthy sports practice.

Educambiente

SDGS 4 e 15

Educating young students in the Tempa Rossa area about the biodiversity of their land, as well as developing their research and exploration skills to contribute to cultural, cognitive, and emotional growth through the conscious enjoyment of the natural environment, are the objectives that the Tempa Rossa joint venture, in collaboration with Nuova Atlantide, aims to achieve with the Educambiente project.

The initiative is part of a three-year program and is aimed at all schools in the municipalities of the Gorgoglione Concession. The activities, which will take place both in the classroom and outdoors through excursions, have two specific goals: to make students aware of the environmental and cultural specificities of their territory and the surrounding area, and to instill in them the concept of respect and love for the natural environment.

Geoscuola

SDGS 4 e 15

Illustrating the secrets of geology to young people, improving their knowledge on the topic of energy, and introducing them to the concepts of geodiversity and geotourism are the goals of "GeoScuola," the sustainable development project that will involve primary school students from the municipalities of the Gorgoglione Concession until May. The scientific organization has been coordinated by ExtraGEO, an academic spin-off of the University of Basilicata, born from the Shell InventaGIOVANI project, conducted by Shell E&P Italia S.p.A. in Basilicata for over ten years.

Lucanica 2.0

SDGS 8.9.17

With the goal of meeting stakeholders' expectations in terms of economic development, the Tempa Rossa joint venture has decided to launch “Lucanica 2.0,” a support program for the internationalization and technological innovation of Lucanian SMEs.

The program, designed to integrate the strategic objectives of the Tempa Rossa joint venture in terms of sustainable development and territorial positioning, has welcomed eleven companies from various productive sectors, including wine, olive oil, bakery products, pasta, cured meats, the production and sale of Cusco pepper chips, and e-commerce. During this journey, the companies have been guided by the Octagona group and supported by TotalEnergies personnel, not only in the creation and maintenance of jobs in Basilicata and the specific area but also in business planning, marketing, and the expansion of international markets.

The event represents an important opportunity for companies to discuss the main export trends, as well as share best practices to successfully prepare for internationalization from a strategic point of view.

The eleven selected companies belong to the territory of the Gorgoglione Concession and other areas of Basilicata.

Action!

It is a solidarity project developed by the TotalEnergies Foundation, launched to support local schools. It allows TotalEnergies employees to dedicate volunteer hours at school facilities to support the conduct of educational activities. This project also aims to support and guide students in schools by opening up new possibilities and developing a different know-how in young people by enhancing their transversal skills.

Gallipoli Cognato Park

The protection of environments of exclusive naturalistic value, carried out by the Gallipoli Cognato Piccole Dolomiti Lucane Regional Park, has allowed over time the presence of numerous wildlife species, especially amphibians and numerous water springs, essential for the survival of these species. The Tempa Rossa joint venture is supporting the identification of all the fountains in the protected area, their restoration as watering points, and cataloging and communication activities.

Social Investments Projects

SDGS 4 e 17

In line with sustainable development initiatives, the Tempa Rossa joint venture places particular importance on schools and the student world. Therefore, it is committed to rewarding the most deserving students with the goal of increasing the level of skills and knowledge of the new generations. We believe that recognizing and rewarding students' commitment and talent is an effective way to stimulate and enhance them in their educational journey. Through these awards, we aim to create a motivating and rewarding learning environment that encourages students to give their best and pursue their personal and professional growth path.

The JV Tempa Rossa rewards students in the second, third, and fourth years with the highest average grades at the end of the school year, while for fifth-year students, scholarships are awarded to the three who achieved the highest grades in the state exam. Depending on their class, beneficiaries can use the scholarships for the purchase of school books, electronic material to support teaching, or a study stay abroad for a language course.

The project was launched in 2022, with the idea and expectation of consolidating it in the coming years so that parents and students can rely on greater support for the right to education. Students who have completed their secondary education can use the funds for expenses related to attending university or a six-month training internship at TotalEnergies offices.

PCTO

SDGS 4 e 8

The PCTO (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) is a program aimed at facilitating the connection between the school and work worlds, allowing students to experience the company environment firsthand and acquire skills useful for their professional future. The project is structured in various classroom training sessions, providing students with a solid theoretical foundation on topics related to business practices. But that's not all: to make the experience even more engaging, the Tempa Rossa joint venture has planned a plant visit for each class involved. During the visit, students will be able to closely observe our production processes.

Bus del Mare

Bus del Mare is a free shuttle service provided by the Tempa Rossa joint venture to the citizens of Gorgoglione, Corleto Perticara, Guardia Perticara, and Stigliano during July and August. This service was designed to make beach access more convenient and accessible, helping to facilitate citizens' mobility and promote local tourism. Additionally, the Bus del Mare offers an ecological and sustainable alternative to private transportation, reducing environmental impact and alleviating traffic problems in coastal areas.

Open Days

SDGS 12

This initiative is designed to share with the community the knowledge of the productive activities carried out, as well as the measures adopted to ensure maximum safety and environmental protection. During these open days, visitors will be able to meet the staff and discover firsthand our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. We believe it is important for our company to have an open and transparent relationship with the local community and to spread the culture of sustainability.

Archaeology

SDGS 12 e 17

A series of activities are being studied to enhance the precious testimonies of the Lucanian civilization, including the remains of warrior aristocracies found in the Sauro Valley, within the scope of preventive archaeology activities supported by the JV Tempa Rossa. The objective of these activities is to preserve, study, and enhance our historical and cultural heritage. This is in addition to promoting initiatives aimed at the wider dissemination of the history of the upper Sauro Valley, a territory characterized by numerous settlements from the pre-protohistoric period to the Enotrian world, to the Lucanian people and the Roman civilization. The sites investigated will provide new elements on ancient settlement dynamics, particularly of the Hellenistic-Lucanian world, of great historical, artistic, and archaeological value. The Tempa Rossa joint venture is also committed to ensuring the protection and conservation of the finds by implementing necessary safety measures and collaborating with sector experts for their proper management.
