Accesibility page

This page aims to present our accessibility policy and define the general accessibility level observed on the website, in accordance with the applicable protocols and regulations.

What is digital accessibility?

Digital accessibility is a set of standards and best practices covering functional, graphic, technical and editorial aspects.

Digital media (websites, mobile applications, PDF files, etc.) must adhere to particular standards and best practices in order to be accessible by people with disabilities.

For example, an accessible website allows users to:

  • Customize its display via the operating system and/or browser (enlarge or shrink characters, change typography, modify colors, turn off animations, etc.).
  • Browse using assistive technologies such as text-to-speech or Braille.
  • Navigate without having to use a mouse, just a keyboard, switches or a touch screen.
  • Watch videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.
  • And more.

Accessibility Policy

TotalEnergies is committed to make its websites (Internet, intranet, and extranet), its software packages, mobile applications and urban digital infrastructure accessible in accordance with Law No. 4 of January 9, 2004.

To this end, it undertakes the following strategy and actions:

The ep.totalenergies.it website was designed using the TotalEnergies webfactory, which allows multiple websites to be created from a common structure and components.

To achieve the best possible result, accessibility was taken into account by the teams in charge of functional and graphic design as well as development throughout the creation of this webfactory.

In addition, trainings on content accessibility were provided to contributors of sites created using the factory. This is completed by input assistance available from the back office and in the contribution guide published by the Webroom teams.

Partial compliance declaration for the RGAA

This declaration applies to ep.totalenergies.it website.

Compliance Status

This audit was conducted in accordance with the RGAA (Référentiel Général d’Amélioration de l’Accessibilité), the French digital accessibility standard.

The website is evaluated as partially compliant with RGAA version 4.1.2 (and therefore WCAG 2.1 AA level).

Non-accessible Contents

This website has been carefully developed to comply with accessibility standards.

However, some contents may be inaccessible to some users (using screen reader for example) and some components may not be usable as a result of the non-conformities listed below.

Non-conformities

  • A few images conveying information do not have an alternative text description.
  • Some decorative images are not ignored by assistive technologies.
  • A few alternative text descriptions of images conveying information are irrelevant.
  • A few complex images conveying information do not have a text alternative.
  • Certain contrasts between text and background color are not high enough.
  • Some non-time-based media do not provide an alternative.
  • Some non-time-based media cannot be controlled by keyboard and any pointing device
  • Some videos or time-based media are not compatible with assistive technologies.
  • Some links are not explicit.
  • Certain scripts are not compatible with assistive technologies.
  • Some script-generated context changes are not reported or controllable.
  • The search page title is irrelevant.
  • Some language changes are not indicated in the source code.
  • A few language change codes are irrelevant.
  • Some semantic elements are used for presentational effect.
  • Certain contents are not properly structured using heading elements.
  • Some lists are not properly structured.
  • Some content is missing when text size is increased up to 200 %.
  • A few contents are not correctly hidden from assistive technologies.
  • Some content is missing when using a 320px width window.
  • The search form field label is irrelevant.
  • Input assistance is not properly used or irrelevant.
  • Tab order is sometimes inconsistent.
  • Nearly all downloadable documents do not have an accessible version.

Additional notes

Validity of the generated source code

The generated source code of the site pages is not fully valid according to the specified document type.

However, for the reasons mentioned below, the RGAA criterion 8.2 corresponding to this point has been marked as compliant.

Officially, WCAG criterion 4.1.1 relating to this RGAA criterion 8.2 has been removed from WCAG 2.2 and must be considered as still satisfied with regard to WCAG 2.1 as well as the European standard EN 301 549.

In practice, this criterion no longer has any benefit for accessibility for people with disabilities. Any accessibility problems arising from the invalidity of the generated source code are covered by other RGAA criteria.

Cookies consent manager

"Tealium" cookies consent manager was not fully audited during the process.

However, it has been checked that its presence does not have an impact on either use or consultation of the website.

Wedia document viewer

Some documents are currently available through the Wedia document viewer.

This component has numerous non-compliances that negatively impact the site's compliance rate and accessibility level, despite the efforts made by the teams at “ep.totalenergies.it” to make the site accessible.

This issue has been identified and is being monitored by the WebRoom teams. Work is underway to improve the compliance and accessibility of Wedia components in the long term.
